Counselling for Anxiety

Are you spending so much time worrying about the “what ifs” that it’s starting to take over your life? Maybe you find yourself spiralling through everything that could go wrong, to the point that it’s affecting your sleep, your relationships, or even how you feel about yourself.

It doesn't have to be like this. Counselling can help you better understand what’s fuelling the worry, recognize the patterns that keep anxiety going, and find new ways of responding so it no longer has such a strong grip on your life.

You can’t seem to stop imagining what might go wrong. And maybe, in the past, that tendency to think ahead, anticipate problems, and stay one step ahead has even served you well. But lately, the worry has started to take over more of your waking thoughts, maybe even following you into the night and getting in the way of much-needed rest. You’ve begun to notice how much space it takes up, and how it’s affecting your life in ways you no longer want.

You might find yourself constantly wondering what other people think of you: whether they like you, value you, or secretly feel you’re not worth much of their time. Or maybe the worry centres on work. Even when you receive positive feedback or move forward in your career, you can’t quite shake the feeling that something is going to give.

Logically, you may know that the scenarios running through your mind are unlikely to happen. But that doesn’t stop them from coming back. Your pulse still quickens. Your body still reacts. And perhaps you’ve started avoiding the situations, conversations, or decisions that bring that anxious feeling to the surface.

Anxiety can begin to make your world feel smaller. But counselling can offer a space to better understand what keeps the worry going, notice the patterns you may have fallen into, and develop new ways of responding when anxiety shows up. The goal is to help release the hold anxiety has on you, so you can feel more grounded, more confident in yourself, and freer to live the life you want.
